The 1867 Fenian Proclamation

When speaking of Irish Proclamations, most of us immediately think of the 1916 Proclamation of the Easter Rising. This, however, is a reproduction of the legendary Fenian Proclamation of 1867 - a much rarer document in Irish history.

Issued in the lead up to the Fenian Rising of 1867, the Proclamation declared the establishment of an Irish Republic and set out the ideals and ambitions of the Fenian movement. Half a century before the Easter Rising, the Fenians proclaimed their vision of an independent Irish Republic and it is one of the most powerfully worded documents in our history.

Unfortunately, all of the original copies of this Proclamation have been lost to history. That is why I decided to design this reproduction, to keep the incredible document alive.

Fun Fact: This is the only Proclamation of the Irish Republic to ever feature the Irish harp.
